Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Peloton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for kids is a fun and challenging way for children ages 6-14 years (depending on the child's size) to study martial arts in a clean, comfortable and non-intimidating environment.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is known as the "gentle art" because there is no striking or kicking. Rather, BJJ utilizes a variety of grappling maneuvers to subdue an opponent. BJJ emphasizes technique over strength or power and is therefore well suited for kids of all sizes. BJJ is an exciting and practical way for children to learn self-defense, improve their fitness level, and gain self-confidence.

Classes will incorporate instruction, drills, games and sparring. Self-defense, Sport BJJ and No-Gi techniques are taught in this program. Parents' questions and concerns are addressed during the second portion of the class. Parents are encouraged to watch and participate during their child's development.

Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

As to the origin and native land of Jiu-Jitsu, there are several opinions, but they are found to be mere assumptions based on narratives relating to the founding of certain schools, or some incidental records or illustrations found in the ancient manuscripts not only in Japan but in China, Persia, Germany, and Egypt. There is no record by which the origins of Jiu-Jitsu can be definitely established. It would, however, be rational to assume that ever since the creation, with the instinct of self-preservation, man has had to fight for existence, and was inspired to develop an art or skill to implement the body mechanism for this purpose. In such efforts, the development may have taken various courses according to the condition of life or tribal circumstance, but the object and mechanics of the body being common, the results could not have been so very different from each other. No doubt this is the reason for finding records relating to the practice of arts similar to Jiu-Jitsu in various parts of the world, and also for the lack of records of its origins.

Muay Thai, translated into English as Thai Boxing, is the national sport of Thailand and is a martial art with origins in the ancient battlefield tactics of the Siamese (or Thai) army. It evolved from Krabi-Krabong, literally sword and baton, the hand-to-hand tactics of the Thai army. The early Muay Thai bouts pitted different companies within the Siamese army against each other with few rules and no weight divisions or time limits. They became quite popular and eventually were shown in stadia across the country. In the early 20th century, time limits, boxing gloves as well as a uniform set of rules were introduced. During the latter half of the 20th century Muay Thai was exported to many countries and is now practiced by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.

Muay Thai is known as "King of the Ring" in kickboxing circles. These fights feature punches, kicks, elbows, knees, standing grappling and head-butts to wear down and knock out their opponent. Thai training methods develop devastating power, speed and superb cardio-vascular endurance as well as fighting spirit. Muay Thai has also proven very effective outside the ring and has been embraced enthusiastically by practitioners of a variety of self-defense, sporting, military and law enforcement activities.
